Recognitions

  • Band Students

    Recognized the Birdville, Haltom and Richland high school marching bands for advancing to the 2023 UIL State Marching Contest. Haltom competed in the 6A competition and Birdville and Richland competed in the 5A competition. Head band directors are Kai Rudnick, Birdville High; Donnie Hull, Haltom High; and Mike Pickrell, Richland High.  

    Cross Country Students

    Ethan Gonzalez, Richland High senior, was recognized as the 2023 UIL 5A State Cross Country Champion and Isaiah Cox, Jr., Birdville High senior, was recognized for advancing to the 2023 UIL State Cross Country competition.  

Summary of Actions

  • Canvassed the votes of the November 7, 2023 tax rate election. 

    Approved the 2023–24 Campus Improvement Plans. 

    Approved the resolution casting votes for Vince Puente, Sr. in the Tarrant Appraisal District Board of Directors election. 

    Approved the TEA application to continue the optional flexible school day program for the remainder of the 202324 school year. 

    Approved the 2023 tax roll. 

    Approved the resolution approving the requirements of the Public Funds Investment Act. 

    Approved budget amendments. 

    Approved the annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. 

Personnel Report

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the contracts for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Network cabling installation at Bob Griggs High School to Progressive Technologies, Inc.; and 
    • Professional services agreement with The Friends Consulting Group, LLC. 

     Approved the final payments to: 

    • Hellas Construction, Inc. for tennis court lighting replacement at Haltom High School; 
    • FPS Fire Protection Specialists, LP for fire alarm replacements at Shannon High School and the Administration Building; and  
    • Garrett Demolition, Inc. for the demolition of Mullendore Elementary. 

     Approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for building the new Smith Elementary to Lee Lewis Construction, Inc. Funds come from Bond 2022 funds.  

     Approved the interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for minor asphaltic patching of potholes at various District locations. 

     Approved the Multi-Region Purchasing Cooperative Interlocal Agreement.
