Partners in Education Recognition

    Academy 4

    Recognized Academy 4 for their partnership with various Birdville ISD campuses. They provide mentors to every fourth grade student at Binion, Cheney Hills, Mullendore, Watauga and West Birdville elementary schools.

Student and Staff Recognitions

  • RHS Band

    Recognized Richland High School’s Royal Band for being selected as a Texas Music Educators Association 5A Honor Band finalist. Directors are Mike Pickrell, Anthony Rivera, Peyton Grunzke and Nathan Hawk. 

    Best High Schools

    Recognized Birdville, Haltom, and Richland high schools for being named in the U.S. News & World Report's 2023–24 Best High Schools rankings. These schools have demonstrated exceptional educational quality, earning their place among the best U.S. high schools at both the state and national levels. Tim Drysdale, Birdville High principal; Dr. Kristi Strickland, Haltom High principal; and Kyle Pekurney, Richland High principal, were recognized. 

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donation from:? 

    • Green Valley PTA to Green Valley Elementary; and 
    • JBI Electric to BCTAL Construction Tech. 

    Approved revisions to Board Policy FC (LOCAL) School Attendance Areas. This change is necessary since W.T. Francisco Elementary has been combined with David E. Smith Elementary. 

    Approved the 2023–24 District Improvement Plan Goals and Objectives. 

    Approved the District’s Concussion Oversight Team (COT). Team members are:? Dr.?Damond Blueitt, Adrian Rosales, Brandon Stafford, and Jared Whitmire. 

    Approved additional Texas Teacher Evaluation & Support System (T-TESS) appraisers for 2023–24. 

    Approved additional Texas Principal Evaluation & Support System (T-PESS) appraisers for 2023–24. 

    Approved the interlocal agreement with Central Texas Purchasing Alliance. 

    Approved budget amendments. 

Public Hearing

  • Conducted a hearing for the 2022–23 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report.?PÕ¾ÊÓƵ received the highest rating available, Superior?Achievement.?

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the purchase of: 

    • Printing and copying services from multiple vendors;
    • Fine arts contracted services from multiple vendors; 
    • Consulting services and professional development from multiple vendors; and
    • Microsoft software renewal agreement from SHI International Corporation. 

    Approved the contracts for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Rebuilding Mullendore Elementary to Lee Lewis Construction, Inc.; and
    • HVAC air balancing commission from Engineered Air Balance. 

    Approved the bids/purchases for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds)

    • Buses from Thomas Bus Gulf Coast GP, Inc. 

    Approved the final payments to:? 

    • Goldsmith Construction Company for Phase 2 plumbing piping replacements at Snow Heights Elementary; 
    • Lea Park & Play and We Build Fun for playground replacements at Binion, Stowe, Spicer and Green Valley elementary schools; and 
    • FPS Fire Protection Specialist, LP for fire alarm replacements at Smithfield Middle, Walker Creek Elementary and Birdville Stadium.
