    Council of PTAs

    The Birdville Council of PTAs 2022–23 President Danielle Russell-Gelinas, Fifth Vice President Clothes Connection Karen Dixon, and Sixth Vice President Supply Depot Christine Lugo were recognized for their outstanding leadership of the Birdville Council of PTAs, Clothes Connection and Supply Depot. 

Student Recognitions

  • VASE Students

    Twenty-five students from Birdville, Haltom and Richland high schools were recognized for their artwork advancing to the Texas Association of Art Educators’ Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). They are: Callum Aspaas, Maya Banks, Kamryn Brewer, Sara Cano, Emma Carpenter, Alyssa Dotson, Lindsay Edwards, Kassandra Hernandez, Emmerson Hickey, Vanessa Mass, Alisha Masters, Madison Mayo, Claudia Medina, Zahara Molina, Felix Morones, Angelina Nguyen, Louis Nguyen, Zaria Nguyen, Avery Pitman, Eduardo Pulido, Monica Rector, Daisy Sandoval, Sunny Simmons, Imam Ssentongo, and Cohen Topley.? 

     Robotics Students

    The Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning Robotics team was recognized for placing third at the State UIL 6A Championship. Team members are: Olivia Davis, Imam Ssentongo, and Luis Cardoza Salazar from Haltom High; Nada Banoub, Colin Wall, Dayne Ratliff, Weston Sellers, Adeel Saleem, and Adrian Davidson from Richland High; and Gabriela Rubio from Birdville High.

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donation from: 

    • CKH Foundation to Smithfield Elementary; 

    • Chris Bess to Haltom High School; and 

    • Hardeman PTA to Hardeman Elementary. 

    Approved the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Proposed Policy Update 120. Update 120 reflects changes in the law based upon recent administrative law and court decisions. Revisions were made to policies:? 

    • CKC (LOCAL) Safety Program/Risk Management: Emergency Plans [replace]; 

    • EC (LOCAL) School Day [replace]; 

    • FNG (LOCAL) Student Rights and Responsibilities: Student and Parent Complaints/Grievances [replace]; and 

    • FO (LOCAL) Student Discipline [replace, includes revisions recommended by Birdville ISD]. 

    Approved the waiver for renewal of expedited staff development minutes. 

    Approved the 2023–24 Instructional Materials Allotment and TEKS Certification template and the 2023–24 Allotment and TEKS Certification form. 

    Approved the 2023–24 Professional Learning Calendar.  

    Approved budget amendments. 

Personnel Report

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • Truck, semi-cab and other vehicle rentals from multiple vendors; and 

    • Gap year instructional materials and AP social studies materials from multiple vendors. 

     Approved the contract with: 

    • Hellas Construction, Inc. for field lighting replacement at the Fine Arts/Athletics Complex; and 

    • Frost Bank for depository services. 

    Approved the bid/purchase for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Network equipment, e-rate C2 services from Flair Data Systems.

     Approved the contracts with: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Lee Lewis Construction for construction of Mullendore Elementary; 

    • Garrett Demolition, Inc. for demolition of Mullendore Elementary; 

    • Tarrant County for temporary asphalt construction of teacher parking and student play area at Francisco Elementary; and 

    • Goldsmith Construction Company for Phase 2 kitchen area plumbing piping replacement at Snow Heights Elementary. 

    Approved the final payment to:? 

    • TDR Contractors, Inc. for HVAC replacements and renovations at Haltom High School.?
