Recognitions

  • All-State Musicians

    The 2023 Texas All-State Musicians were recognized. They are: Elizabeth Gardner, Omar Orocio, William Qian, band; and Jacob Becker, Grace Choate, Emma Cottle, Elliot Hembree, Emily Phillips, and Noel Sanchez, choir. 

     National Board Certified Teachers

    PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s first class of national certified teachers were recognized. They are:  Laura Lyons, Angelica Martinez, Shevin Russell, Christopher Sebesta, Lisa Treadway, initial certifications; and Maegan Holycross, maintenance of certification. 

     Dr. Stinson and Richard Davis

    PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Superintendent Dr. Gayle Stinson was recognized for receiving the 2023 Margret Montgomery Leadership Award at The Council of Women School Executives (TCWSE) annual conference in January. 

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donation from: 

    • Richland Area Band Boosters (RABB) to Birdville ISD Fine Arts. 

    Appointed the 2022 Bond Oversight Committee. The Committee is comprised of community members who will be advisory in nature and will meet at least quarterly. Their primary duties will be to review the progress of the construction and the expenditures associated with each project in the 2022 Bond. The Committee’s quarterly reports to the Board will be posted online. Committee members are: Curtis Bergthold, Michael Gist, Rebecca Hill, Chris McDonald, Erin Morgan, Erin Powell and Chris Zimmer. 

    Approved the 202324 Calendar. View 2023–24 Calendar

    Approved the resolution to pay staff for the winter weather closings, Jan. 31 – Feb. 3. 

    Approved budget amendments.

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • Concourse lighting replacement at the Fine Arts/Athletics Complex from Gliden Industries;
    • Playground equipment replacements for Stowe and Binion elementary schools from We Build Fun;
    • Playground equipment replacements for Green Valley and Spicer elementary schools from Lea Park & Play, Inc.;
    • Tennis court lighting at Haltom High School from Hellas Construction, Inc.; and 
    • Custodial supplies, industrial paper, PPE, and Child Nutrition paper and cleaning products from multiple vendors. 

     Approved the contract for: 

    • Special education services from multiple vendors.

    Approved the bid/purchase for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Network equipment from Flair Data Systems. 

    Approved the payment to BELFOR Property Restoration for flood damages and the related budget amendment.
