  • Board od Trustees

    The PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Board of Trustees was recognized for its leadership and commitment to the students of the District.

     

    Business Department

    PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s Finance and Federal Programs departments were recognized for receiving the 2022 TASBO Award of Excellence by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO).

     

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donations from:

    • Porter PTA to Porter Elementary; and
    • Liberty Packaging to Francisco Elementary.

    Approved the Order of Trustees Election for Saturday, May 6 to fill Places 1 and 2 (currently held by Kelvin Dilks and Joe Tolbert respectively).

    Approved renaming Shannon High School to Bob E. Griggs High School, effective with the campus’s move to the new location on Denton Highway. The school mascot will remain the shamrock. View Bob E. Griggs' Bio

    Approved naming the special education wing at the new Denton Highway property Linda Kunkel Specialized Learning Center. View Linda Kunkel's Bio

    Approved naming the new partner elementary school David E. Smith Elementary with the cafeteria being named Francisco Cafeteria. The school colors will be red and blue, and the school mascot will be a Lion. 

    Approved the recommendations from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).

    Approved new course offerings for the 2023–24 school year.

    Approved budget amendments.

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for:
    • Cafeteria replacement furniture at Snow Heights, Porter, and North Ridge elementary schools from Indeco; and
    • High-roof cargo van from Grapevine Dodge Chrysler Jeep, LLC.

     

    Approved the contract for:
    • Security guard services from Blue Shield Security & Protection, Inc.

     

    Approved the bids/purchases for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds)
    • One regular education bus from Thomas Bus Gulf Coast GP, Inc.;
    • Seven special education buses with wheelchair lifts from Longhorn Bus Sales, LLC.

     

    Approved the contracts with: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds)
    • BTC Construction and Lee Lewis Construction for construction manager-at-risk for 2022 Bond projects.
