Student Recognitions

  • Special Olympic Winners

    Four PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Special Olympians and two Unified Partner Olympians were recognized for their efforts at the state Special Olympics Track Meet in San Antonio. They were: Nick Hidrogo, Ivan Dunlap, Shakeb Syed, Alan Marquez, Andy Marquez and Elia Cockerham. 

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donations from: 

    • Multiple donors to PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s teacher of the year event;  
    • Mr. and Mrs. David E. Smith to Smith Elementary; and  
    • LDI International to Francisco Elementary. 

    Approved the action regarding District security system, security infrastructure, and/or security personnel. 

    Approved the 2022–23 Student Code of Conduct and Extracurricular Honor Code. 

    Approved the 2021–22 General Fund, Debt Service Fund and Child Nutrition Fund Revised Budgets.  

    Approved the 2022–23 Accelerated Instruction Budget. 

    Approved the 2022–23 General Fund, Debt Service Fund and Child Nutrition Fund Budgets. 

    Approved the Government Accounting Standard Board (GASB) 54 fund balance policies. 

    Approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP). 

    Approved the waiver application for submission to TEA for the low attendance and missed instructional days. 

    Approved the resolution for self-certification of increased micro-purchase threshold. 

    Approved the associate superintendent of finance and auxiliary services or similarly titled District position to calculate the District tax rate and provide the required information for the appraisal district website. 

    Approved the action regarding pending litigation Texas Education Agency Docket No.?231-SE-0422. 

    Approved budget amendments. 

Public Hearings

  • A public hearing was conducted on the 2022–23 budget and tax rate. 

    A public hearing was conducted on the State Compensatory Education.

Bids Awarded

  • Approved the bid/purchase for: 

    • Large equipment for Child Nutrition Services from Pasco Brokerage, Inc; 
    • Serving line replacement at North Ridge Elementary from Mission Restaurant Supply;
    • Shelving replacement for Child Nutrition Services from Ace Mart Restaurant Supply;
    • Child Nutrition Services supplies from multiple vendors; and 
    • Cafeteria furniture replacement at Haltom High School from Indeco Sales and School Specialty, Inc. 

     Approved the contracts for: 

    • Contracted services and Master Interlocal Agreement for 2022–23 from Education Service Center (ESC) Region 11; 
    • Tax collection for the 2022–24 tax years from Tarrant County Tax Office; and  
    • STAR 360 Universal Screener renewal from Renaissance Learning. 

     Approved the final payment to: 

    • Nouveau Technology Services, L.P. for the site improvement package at Watauga Elementary and North Oaks Middle schools.
