  • Board of Trustees

    The PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Board of Trustees was recognized for its leadership and commitment to the students of the District. 

    Officer Gage

    Officer Carl Cage, Haltom High School’s School Resource Officer (SRO), was recognized for being named Haltom City’s 2021 Officer of the Year. 

    Purchasing Department

    PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s Purchasing Department was recognized for receiving the 2022 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Only 58 of more than 1,110 districts met the stringent criteria to qualify for this year’s award. 

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donation from: 

    • Association for Learning Environments to Smithfield Middle School. 

     Approved the Order of Trustee Election for Saturday, May 7 to fill Places 6 and 7 (currently held by Ralph Kunkel and Kris Drees respectively). 

     Approved revisions to Board Policy FC (LOCAL) Student Attendance Areas. This change adds Cheney Hills Elementary and identifies appropriate feeder patterns for the District. 

     Approved the trademark agreement with the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club, LLC. 

     Approved the resolution regarding wage payments for staff during spring 2022 emergency school closings. 

     Approved extending the COVID-19 Relief Leave to June 30, 2022. 

     Approved the Section 179D Allocations to VLK Architects. 

     Approved the negotiated settlement agreement regarding EEOC claim. 

     Approved budget amendments. 

Personnel Report

Bids Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • Modular building complex for the Academy at C.F. Thomas from Gliden Industries, LLC; 
    • Needlepoint bipolar ionization equipment from Facility Response Group (FRG Holdings, LLC); and 
    • Technology supplies, equipment, and services from multiple vendors. 

    Approved the contracts with: (Funds come from Bond 2018 funds) 

    • Infinity Contractors, Ltd. for auditorium and gym HVAC replacements at North Oaks Middle School; and 
    • Garrett Demolition, Inc. for the demolition of Major Cheney Elementary. 

    Approved the final payments to: 

    • Ratcliff Constructors for the construction of Cheney Hills Elementary School, Smithfield Elementary School and upgrades at the three high school fine arts auditoriums; 
    • Ragle, Inc. for the construction of the pedestrian bridge and parking lot at the Cheney Hills Elementary site; and 
    • Air Balancing Company, Inc. for HVAC and lighting testing, balancing, and commissioning services for the PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Plaza renovations and 2018 Bond projects.
