    Marcus Warren with?North Tarrant Express presented four randomly selected classroom teachers with $250 gift cards.?Trustees Ralph Kunkel and Kris Drees drew the names live on Facebook on Friday, Oct. 22. Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donation from: 

    • David Clemons to PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s Auto Technology program, and 
    • Catherine Wysocki to PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s Auto Technology program. 

    Approved the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Proposed Policy Update 117. Update 117 reflects changes in the law based upon recent administrative law and court decisions. Revisions were made to policies: 

    • CH (LOCAL) Purchasing and Acquisitions [replace]; 
    • CV (LOCAL) Facilities Construction [replace, includes revisions recommended by Birdville ISD]; and 
    • DEC (LOCAL) Compensation and Benefits: Leaves and Absences [replace, includes revisions recommended by Birdville ISD]. 

    Approved the 2021–22 District Improvement Plan. 

    Approved the request for additional class-size waivers for four sections in prekindergarten through fourth grade for 2021–22. 

    Approved the resolution regarding the local remote learning program. 

    Approved Mark Thomas and Paige Curry as the superintendent’s designees to review and submit staff requests for TEA Secure Environment access (TEASE) to the Texas Education Agency. 

    Approved budget amendments. 

    Approved the 2021–22 budget update. 

    Approved the 2021–22 budget amendment for campus 2020–21 rollover funds. 

    Approved the health/physical education (PE) textbook adoption committee. 

Public Hearing

  • Conducted a hearing for the 202021 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report.?PÕ¾ÊÓƵ received the highest rating available, Superior?Achievement. 

Personnel Report

  • Approved the request for sanctions of two teacher certificates for abandonment of contract. 

Bids Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • FPS Fire Protection Specialist, LP for fire alarm replacement at Smithfield Middle School, Walker Creek Elementary, and Birdville Stadium. 

    Approved the bids/purchases for (monies for these projects come from 2018 Bond funds): 

    • Student Chromebooks from Delcom Group; and 
    • E-Logic, Inc. change order for asbestos abatement at Major Cheney Elementary School at South Birdville. 

    Approved the final payment to (monies for these projects come from 2018 Bond funds): 

    • Tri-Lam Roofing and Waterproofing, Inc. for fluid-applied roofing system at Thomas Coliseum; 
    • Alpha Testing, Inc. for construction materials inspection and testing services for Cheney Hills Elementary and the pedestrian bridge; and 
    • Engineered Air Balance Company, Inc. for testing, adjusting and balancing services for HVAC systems for Haltom and Richland middle schools.
