Summary of Actions

  • Administered the oath of office to Place 1 Trustee Joe Tolbert, and Place 2 Trustee Kelvin Dilks.

    Elected the 2020–21 officers for the Board of Trustees. They are: Jack McCarty, president; Joe Tolbert, vice president; and Kelvin Dilks, secretary. 

    Approved the revision to Board Policy FC (LOCAL) School Attendance Areas. This revision updates campus names and feeder patterns.

    Approved the 2020–21 Student Code of Conduct and Extracurricular Honor Code.

    Approved the Texas Education Agency Missed School Day Waiver Resolution.

    Approved the property damage release.

    Approved budget amendments.

  • Approved the bids/purchases for:

    • PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s Plaza roofing replacement from Progressive Roofing;
    • PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s Plaza storefront replacements from Core Construction;
    • Serving counter replacement at Hardeman Elementary from 1st Choice Restaurant Equipment & Supply, LLC; and
    • Security fencing at PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s warehouse from SAS Security Alarm Service, Co., LLC

    Approved the contracts with:

    • Renaissance Learning for the STAR 360 Universal Screener renewal;
    • Tyler Technologies, Inc. for MUNIS annual maintenance and support renewal;
    • Cloud Ingenuity, LLC for upgrading email and phone systems;
    • Workers’ Compensation Solutions for Workers’ Compensation;
    • Property Casualty Alliance of Texas for liability and auto insurance; and
    • Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates for property insurance.

    Approved the final payment to:

    • Progressive Roofing for roofing at the PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Plaza.

Special Session

  • THE BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION on May 19 and took the following actions:

    Announced 20 resignations and one retirement.

    Approved the administrative appointments of:

    • Andrew Lawver, Coordinator of Assessment;
    • Darla Cowan, Reading Academy Comprehensive Coach;
    • Lauren Jones, Elementary Instructional Coach;
    • Kelsie Shabay, Counselor, Binion Elementary;
    • Tanna Falcon, Academic Dean, Birdville High School;
    • Antonio Williamson, Assistant Principal, Haltom High School; and
    • Kenji Ford, Assistant Principal, Holiday Heights Elementary.
