Summary of Actions

  • Approved the revision to Board Policy DEA (LOCAL) Compensation and Benefits: Compensation Plan. This revision addresses premium pay during crisis situations.

    Approved budget amendments.

Bids Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for:

    • Buses from Thomas Bus Gulf Coast GP, Inc.; and
    • Musical instruments and accessories from multiple vendors.

    Approved the contracts with:

    • MSB Consulting Group for Medicaid billing and consultation services;
    • Weaver and Tidwell, LLP to perform the District’s annual audit; and
    • Progressive Roofing for roofing at Shannon High School – Phase 1.

    Approved the final payment to:

    • Nouveau Construction and Technology, LP for security enhancements at the Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning (BCTAL).

    Approved the design agreement with Teague Nall Perkins for Cheney Hills Elementary offsite utilities.

    Approved the interlocal agreement with ESC 20 to be part of the Special Education Supports Cooperative.

  • Thursday, May 28, 2020, Regular Board Meeting, open session at 7 p.m., Boardroom.

Special Session

  • THE BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION on April 9 and took the following actions:

    Approved the resolution regarding Board Policy EIC (LOCAL) Academic Achievement: Class Rank. The resolution determines:

    • That local honors, including valedictorian and salutatorian determinations, shall be based on the grades available for the end of the first semester; and
    • For students in the graduating classes of 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, the District shall include in the calculation of class rank semester grades earned in all high school credit courses taken at any grade level except for the Spring 2020 semester.

    Approved the superintendent to submit a request to TEA for an employee appraisal waiver.

     

    THE BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION on April 16 and took the following actions:

    Announced 17 resignations and one retirement.

    Approved the administrative appointments of:

    • Tamera Diller, Director of Special Education;
    • Donald M. Bartlett, Binion Elementary Principal;
    • Dr. Shane Conklin, Cheney Elementary Principal;
    • Dr. Jim Calvin, Green Valley Elementary Principal;
    • Merritt Dobecka, Mullendore Elementary Principal;
    • Alison Sheffield, West Birdville Elementary Assistant Principal; and
    • Jennifer Lawler, Birdville High School, Assistant Principal.
