Partners in Education Recognitions

     Legacy Church of Christ Partners in Education

    Jason Brown and Legacy Church of Christ were recognized for their support of PÕ¾ÊÓƵ. Legacy provides support to Smithfield Middle School students and staff. In addition, the church organized and maintains the Supporting Parents Raising Kids (SPARK) program for school-aged parents from PÕ¾ÊÓƵ.

      Northwood Church Partners in Education

    Kurt Pafford, Julie Johnson and NorthWood Church were recognized for their support of PÕ¾ÊÓƵ. NorthWood has been a longtime supporter of West Birdville Elementary. In addition, they recently implemented a study club at Skyline Mobile Home Estates, a community serviced by Watauga Elementary.

Student/Staff Recognitions

  •  Holiday Card Artwork Winners

    Jasmine Grant, Richland High School freshman, was recognized as PÕ¾ÊÓƵ’s 2018 Holiday Card Contest winner; Emma Hilliard, Birdville High School senior, was recognized as the second-place winner; and Avery Collins, Haltom High School junior, was recognized as the third-place winner.

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donations from:

    • Federal Express to Richland High School’s Robotics Team;
    • Artistic Framing to PÕ¾ÊÓƵ's Fine Arts Department; and
    • Birdville Band Booster to Birdville High School Band.

    Approved the 2019–20 District Calendar > 2019–20 Calendar

    Approved the change in Board Policy EIC (LOCAL) Academic Achievement: Class Ranking. This revision changes the courses included in GPA calculation thus permitting students to take athletics, electives, and CTE courses without detriment to GPA/class rank. This change will be phased-in to maintain equity for current high school students.

    Approved budget amendments.

    Approved the Order for Issuance of PÕ¾ÊÓƵ Unlimited Tax School Building Bonds, Series 2019.

    Approved the Early College High School Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Facilities Use Agreement with the Tarrant County College District.

    Approved the educational specifications for facilities design and construction.

    Approved the resolution to accept an offer to purchase property struck-off for taxes. The property is at 3123 Ash Park Dr. in Richland Hills.

Personnel

  • Announced two appointments, four resignations and three retirements. 

    Announced one administrative transfer:

    • Michael Gerard, Chancellor, Early College High School

Bids Awarded

  • Ratified payment to Blackmon Mooring for emergency repairs in the crawlspace under Porter Elementary.

    Approved the purchase/bid from:

    • 308 Construction, LLC for canopy construction at Richland High School;
    • 308 Construction, LLC and LMC Corporation for security enhancements at multiple campuses;
    • Spaeth Machine Shop, Inc. for AC replacement at Mullendore Elementary;
    • Trane US, Inc. for AC replacement at Porter Elementary;
    • Centennial Contractors Enterprise, Inc. for floor bar joist repairs at North Ridge Elementary; and
    • AGD Utility Construction, Inc. for replacement of retaining wall at Foster Village Elementary.

    Approved the contracts with:

    • Organizational Health Diagnostic and Development Corporation for the Organizational Health Instrument (OHI); and
    • Canon Solutions America, Inc. for multi-function printer devices.

    Approved the final payments to:

    • Trane US, Inc. for chilled water piping insulation in underfloor crawlspace at The Academy at C.F. Thomas; and
    • Ratcliff Constructors, LP for the construction of the new North Richland Middle School.
