Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donations from:

    • Smith PTA to Smith Elementary; and
    • Porter PTA to Porter Elementary.

    Approved the Texas Association of School Boards’ Policy Update 111. Update 111 reflects changes in the law based upon recent administrative law and court decisions. Revisions were made to policies:

    • BBD (LOCAL) Board Members: Training and Orientation [Revised]
    • CAA (LOCAL) Fiscal Management Goals and Objectives: Financial Ethics [Revised]
    • CJA (LOCAL) Contracted Services: Criminal History [Add]
    • DHE (LOCAL) Employee Standards of Conduct: Searches and Alcohol/Drug Testing [Revised]
    • DI (LOCAL) Employee Welfare [Deleted]
    • FEA (LOCAL) Attendance: Compulsory Attendance [Revised]

    Approved the 2018–19 Campus Improvement Plans.

    Approved Mark Thomas and Paige Curry as the superintendent’s designees to review and submit staff requests for TEA Secure Environment Access (TEASE) to the Texas Education Agency.

    Approved budget amendments.

    Approved the resolution regarding credit-by-examination audit process.

    Approved the textbook adoption committee.

    Approved the dedication of easement to the city of Fort Worth for the Big Fossil Creek Sewer Interceptor Project.

    Approved the dedication of easement to AT&T/Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for equipment installation project at Porter Elementary.

    Approved the updated 2018–19 general fund and debt service fund budgets.

Public Hearing

  • Conducted a hearing for the 2016–17 Financial Integrity System of Texas (FIRST) report. PÕ¾ÊÓƵ received the highest rating available, Superior Achievement.

Personnel

  • Announced five appointments. 

Bids Awarded

  • Approved the negotiated terms for architectural contracts and associated fees.

    Approved the contracts with:

    • Estes, McClure & Associates, Inc. for annual thermal imaging;
    • Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance for roofing repairs at multiple campuses; and
    • Sentinal Cyber Intelligence for KnowBe4 Cyber Security Awareness Training program for all staff.

    Approved the final payments to:

    • Nouveau Construction and Technology Services for summer 2018 bond projects;
    • 308 Construction for summer 2018 year-end projects;
    • Dallas Door and Supply Company for miscellaneous door and storefront repairs; and
    • Melhart Industries for band and athletic filming towers at Birdville, Haltom and Richland high schools.
