  • Taylor Anderson

    Taylor Anderson was recognized for his service to PÕ¾ÊÓƵ. He resigned from the Board after moving from the District.

     

    Ron Wadley, April Business Partner  

    Ron Wadley with Insurance for Texans was recognized for his support of Binion Elementary. He supports campus fundraisers, promotes campus events through his social media outlets, and donates a gift card each month to be given to the staff member of the month.

     

    Smithfield Middle School’s deaf students were recognized for advancing and competing in the National Battle of the Books comp

    Smithfield Middle School’s deaf students were recognized for advancing and competing in the National Battle of the Books competition in Washington, D.C. Members of the team are: Tisha Manandhar, Caitlyn Kinsler, Hope Vance, and Max Ridgway.

     

    Birdville High School Deaf Ed Students  

    Birdville High School’s deaf students were recognized for advancing to the Southern Regional Gallaudet’s Academic Bowl. Members of the team are: Lizeth Gonzalez, Janessa Gonzalez, Rylee Jankowski and Amy Nguyen.

     

    Birdville Council of PTAs  

    Birdville Council of PTAs 2017-18 President Julie Nguyen, First Vice President/Volunteer Coordinator Shirley Davis, Fifth Vice President Clothes Connection Becky Bolstad, and Sixth Vice President Supply Depot Cathy Langston were recognized for their outstanding leadership of Birdville Council of PTAs, Volunteer Partnership, Clothes Connection and Supply Depot.

     

    2018 All-State Musicians

    Students from Birdville, Haltom and Richland high schools were recognized for being named to the 2018 Texas All-State Band or Choir. They are: Faith Adams, Peter Armendariz, David Beavers, Jackson Boyd, Michael Ford, Kayla Jefferies, Isaiah Knight, Evan Pallanes, Alyssa Perrin, Joshua Pruett and Jacob Schuck.

     

    Energy Management

    PÕ¾ÊÓƵ was recognized for receiving 30 Energy Star Building Certifications from the U.S. Environment Protection Agency Energy Star program.

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donations from:

    • Buyers Barricades to Richland Middle School; and
    • Birdville Education Foundation to PÕ¾ÊÓƵ.

     

    Approved the updated Board Operating Procedures.

     

    Approved Joe Tolbert to serve on the board of directors for the North Richland Hills Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number One.

     

    Approved budget amendments.

     

    Approved the joint use and construction agreement with Haltom City.

     

    Approved the 2017-18 external audit engagement letter with Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P.

Personnel

  • Announced four appointments, 52 resignations and two retirements. 

     

    Approved the administrative appointments of:

    • Dave Lambson as executive director of technology; 
    • Lisa Collett Walker as principal of Holiday Heights Elementary.

Bids Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for:

    • Sidewalk replacement at District-owned parking lot adjacent to Birdville Elementary from Fireman’s Paving Contractors;
    • Football helmet reconditioning from Athletic Supply, Inc.;
    • Surface Pro devices from GovConnection, Inc.;
    • Thermal imaging of main electrical panels and associated equipment from Estes, McClure and Associates, Inc.;
    • Pest control from Massey Services;
    • Nursing supplies and equipment from multiple vendors;
    • Door and storefront repairs and replacement at multiple campuses from Dallas Door and Supply Company; and
    • Main gymnasium lighting replacement at Birdville High School from Fort Worth Electric.

     

    Approved the bid/purchase for: (Monies for this project will come from 2014 Bond funds.)

    • Door access controls for new security gates at multiple campuses to SAS Security Alarm Service Co., Inc.;
    • Upgrades to public address systems at multiple campuses from Nationwide Network Technologies, Inc.;
    • Distributed antennae system at North Richland Middle School from Nouveau Construction and Technology Services; and
    • Network rack equipment from Flair Data Systems.

     

    Approved the final payment to:

    • Paragon Sports Constructors for track repair at Birdville High School; and
    • Nouveau Construction and Technology Services for acoustic panels at Francisco Elementary.

     

    Approved additional software licenses from Edgenuity.
